Let’s continue our interviews ! Today we are receiving Andy, founder of the blog fashiongiver.com. As a Graphic designer, Andy shares his passion for fashion through a large variety of posts and tips. Discover it !

Hello Andy, can you introduce yourself and your blog fashiongiver.com

My name is Andy. Graphic designer. I discovered my passion for fashion while I was in college, I started my blog in 2010 as a creative outlet and nowadays is one of the most well known fashion blogs in my country. I’ve worked with amazing brands like Gillette, Express, Toms and Cotton USA. I cover from international fashion news, to runway reviews, to OOTD’s.

2. What are your editorial habits? (I write my own content, someone writes for me, someone proofreads me, I take my own pictures for the blog, I post a lot of videos etc…)

Since my blog has become part of my job, I take quite some time of my schedule to prepare the content that’s gonna be in it, I write my own content, I try to post as much as I can since I don’t limit myself to 1 or 2 posts a week, I write up to 5 or more if I have the right material, same goes with pictures, while I’m out, I try to take pictures of my outfits, stores, clothing, people, then I edit them and use them in different articles.

3. What do you like the most about fashion?

Fashion is a great way to express yourself without having to say a word, that’s what I like the most. I love color, textures, shapes, graphics, fabrics, everything that involves the creative process of creating fashion is what keeps me going.

4. How do you use social networks ? Which one do you prefer ?

Instagram is the most important social network right now when it comes to fashion bloggers since it encapsulates the aesthetics most of us work with. Snapchat comes second, it gives us the opportunity to share our daily life and our editorial work in a more carefree way, and readers love that. Youtube comes third, as a fashion blogger, having a youtube channel is really important because video is becoming the ruler when it comes to content creation. 5. What are the meaningful moments of the development of the blog ? 

To see the reaction of your readers with everything you post and share. Their feedback and interaction is quite priceless and that’s what is giving shape to my blog day by day. Developing a fashion blog is harder than ever, since very few end up having recognition and success. But if you have loyal readers and supporters, everything comes to life.

6. who’s your target ?

I cover both menswear and womenswear so my demographic is 50/50, it gives me the opportunity to have much more content to publish every time of the year. I don’t talk about age because my blog is consumed by 14 year old little girls to 45 year old men who are looking for the perfect tie

7. Which are the most popular categories of your blog ?

My readers love video blogs complemented with a story behind them, it could be a storytelling fashion experience, to a grooming tutorial where I show how to shave. They love pictures, videos and colorful publications. Text only articles is not appealing for them.

8. Where do you find inspiration ?

My inspiration is international fashion, what’s happening in the world is what keeps me interested in the fashion industry. Watching a beautiful Valentino fashion show on Youtube and then read about it in a magazine is the perfect way for me to start writing or taking pictures. High end fashion is everything for me.
