Drive creators programs that sell.

Brandwatch is a social listening platform with deep research tools. PR and research teams use it to monitor what gets said about a brand online, from social posts to forum threads.

Brandwatch sells through a demo with no public price, and teams that only need to monitor their brand can end up paying for research depth they never use.

We compare 10 Brandwatch alternatives here by price and by the team each one serves. We built Upfluence, one of the 10, and we have spent more than a decade running creator programs with brands, so we flag where a dedicated listening tool beats it.

TL;DR: The Best Brandwatch Alternatives at a Glance

The best replacement depends on which team will use it and how much you plan to spend.

  • Closest replacement: Talkwalker matches Brandwatch most closely on coverage and also sells through a custom quote.
  • PR and communications teams: Meltwater is the strongest option when press coverage matters as much as social posts.
  • Large enterprises: Sprinklr makes sense mainly when customer service runs through the same system.
  • Social media teams: Hootsuite includes basic listening in every paid plan, while Sprout Social and Agorapulse sell it as an add-on.
  • Tight budgets: Awario and Mentionlytics publish entry plans under $70 per month.
  • Creator-led programs: Upfluence helps you vet, pay, and track the creators who already mention your brand.

Why Teams Look for a Brandwatch Alternative

Brandwatch’s main strength is its archive. The company says its consumer intelligence product holds 1.7 trillion historical conversations going back to 2010 and adds 501 million more every day.

Users also rate Brandwatch Consumer Intelligence highly, giving it 4.4 out of 5 across 728 reviews on G2. Even so, the complaints in those reviews cluster around four issues.

  • No published price: You cannot budget for Brandwatch before a sales call.
  • A steep learning curve: Reviewers describe query setup and dashboards as complex enough to need a trained owner.
  • Inconsistent sentiment: Several reviewers report the same comment being tagged with conflicting sentiment.
  • Coverage gaps: Reviewers mention limited TikTok coverage, restricted YouTube data, and missing Reddit exports.

Brandwatch’s ownership also shapes who it is built for. Cision paid $450 million to acquire Brandwatch in 2021 to sit alongside its PR software. Its roadmap follows research and communications teams more closely than growth teams.

Growth teams that need to tie social activity to sales may want a tool built around that job instead.

What to Look for in a Social Listening Platform

Every tool on this list does social listening, which our guide to social listening for influencer marketing explains in more depth. They all track brand mentions, but they differ in five ways that change what you get and what you pay.

  • Source coverage: Which networks, news sites, forums, and review sites the tool reads, and how much history it keeps.
  • Billing model: Whether you pay per seat, per mention, per keyword, or on a custom quote.
  • Audience quality: Whether the tool shows who is posting about you and whether their followers are real.
  • Action: What you can do inside the tool once a mention appears.
  • Data export: Whether you can export raw mentions or pull them through an API, and what that costs.

Coverage is the biggest driver of price, because listening vendors pay the platforms for access to their data. X publishes its API tiers, so you can see what reading one network costs.

Reddit restricts access even more tightly. Its developer documentation says you cannot use Reddit data for commercial purposes without permission. That is why Reddit and forum coverage varies so much from one vendor to the next.

Getting data out costs extra too: export and API access often sit on a higher tier or carry their own fee, so price that access before you sign if you plan to use mentions in a business intelligence (BI) tool.

Audience quality matters because a mention from an account with bought followers counts the same in a mention total as one from a creator with real reach.

In our analysis of Instagram profiles, covering nearly 4 million accounts, the median profile carried an estimated 7% fake followers.

One in 16 profiles showed an estimated fake share above 25%. You can test any account with our free fake follower checker.

The type of creator behind a mention matters as well. For our Q1 2026 brand report, we analyzed 3.3 million creator mentions across the top 300 brands on Instagram and TikTok.

Shein collected roughly 285,000 of them, mostly from mid-tier creators with 50,000 to 250,000 followers.

L’Oréal Paris was the opposite. Nano creators made up 10 times Shein’s share of its mentions. A mention count alone would show both brands as heavily discussed without revealing who was doing the talking.

If your goal is to turn the creators who mention you into partners, get started with Upfluence to see how those mentions connect to tracked revenue.

The 10 Best Brandwatch Alternatives

Prices come from each vendor’s own pricing page at the time of writing.

1. Talkwalker

If you want the closest like-for-like swap for Brandwatch, start with Talkwalker. Talkwalker monitors social and news sources at enterprise scale.

Talkwalker also tracks how AI assistants such as ChatGPT describe your brand through LLM Insights, a feature included from the entry Core plan.

Talkwalker lists three plans (Core, Analyze, and Business) but no prices, and every plan includes unlimited users. Moving up a tier mainly buys non-sampled data, meaning every result is counted rather than estimated from a sample. Higher tiers also hold more topics and a longer history.

Talkwalker now shares an owner with another tool on this list. Hootsuite announced its acquisition of Talkwalker in April 2024. Hootsuite’s Enterprise listening now runs on the same Lumen technology, so comparing the two mostly comes down to packaging and price.

For a Brandwatch vs Talkwalker evaluation, run both demos in the same week against the same brief, since neither publishes a price.

2. Meltwater

Meltwater is the pick when your listening budget belongs to the communications team. Meltwater pairs social listening with news monitoring, so press coverage and social posts land in the same dashboard.

The catch is commitment. Meltwater publishes no prices and offers no self-serve trial, and by its own account most agreements run on a 12-month minimum, so a team that wants to test a tool for a quarter first should start somewhere else.

3. Sprinklr

Sprinklr is a unified customer-experience suite spanning more than 30 channels, with marketing and customer service in the same system. That breadth makes it overkill unless customer service also runs through it.

Listening is sold separately as Sprinklr Insights. No price is published. For a team that only needs to replace Brandwatch, choosing Sprinklr becomes a platform decision for several departments.

4. Sprout Social

Sprout Social is a strong social media management platform, and its listening product is well built, sitting in the same interface as publishing and engagement.

Sprout publishes its prices, starting with Standard at $199 per seat per month on annual billing. Listening is a separate add-on for Standard and above, at a price Sprout does not publish.

A three-person team on Standard pays $597 a month before listening is added.

Pick Sprout if your team already publishes from it, because adding listening to a tool everyone knows is far easier than training people on a second one.

5. Hootsuite

Hootsuite includes some listening in every paid plan, which neither Sprout Social nor Agorapulse does. How deep that listening goes depends on the tier.

  • Standard, from $99 per user per month: You get brand monitoring and competitive benchmarking.
  • Professional, $199 per user per month: You can search up to 30 days of conversations with Quick Search.
  • Enterprise, custom quote: You get advanced listening powered by Lumen and 13 months of historical data.

Thirty days is thin. Trend work needs a year of data, and that means Enterprise, which puts Hootsuite in the same price conversation as Talkwalker.

6. Agorapulse

Agorapulse makes sense if listening is an afterthought. Its plans run from $79 to $199 per user per month, depending on tier and billing term.

Listening is a paid add-on on every plan, at a price Agorapulse does not publish. If listening is the main reason you are replacing Brandwatch, look elsewhere first.

7. Brand24

Brand24 is a monitoring-first tool built around keyword tracking and alerts. Brand24 reads social posts, news, blogs, forums and reviews, then reports mention volume and sentiment for each keyword.

Brand24 publishes every tier and its limits, shown here at annual-billing prices.

PlanPrice per monthKeywords and mentions
Individual$1993 keywords, 2,000 mentions
Team$2997 keywords, 10,000 mentions
Pro$39912 keywords, 40,000 mentions
Business$59925 keywords, 100,000 mentions
EnterpriseFrom $1,499Custom limits

The Individual plan is too small for an active brand. Three keywords barely covers your brand name plus one competitor. Team is the realistic starting point.

Budget for API access too if you plan to send mentions to another system. API access costs an extra $149 on Pro and Business.

In a Brandwatch vs Brand24 comparison, run your real brand keywords through Brand24’s free trial and compare the mention count against what Brandwatch shows you today.

8. Mentionlytics

Mentionlytics is the strongest value for a small team that wants real listening, tracking mentions across social networks and the open web. The tool also reports share of voice, which is the slice of category conversation that belongs to your brand.

The Basic plan is listed at $49 per month on yearly billing as a limited-time offer, down from $69. That plan covers three keyword rules, 5,000 mentions a month, 10 social profiles, and two users.

At entry level, that gives you 5,000 mentions for $49, compared with 2,000 mentions for $199 on Brand24. The pricing page also lists an 18-month archive and a paid historical data option. Plans climb to an Enterprise tier from $1,299 per month.

9. Awario

Awario is for a solo marketer or a very lean team. The tool is built around Boolean search (queries you build with AND, OR and NOT operators) and skips publishing and inbox features entirely.

Plans run from 29permonthonannualbilling(49 billed monthly) up to $249 per month for Enterprise. The Starter plan covers three topics and 30,000 new mentions a month.

Storage is tight. Starter keeps 5,000 mentions per topic and drops the oldest once you hit that cap, and CSV export only arrives on the Pro and Enterprise plans.

10. Upfluence

Upfluence Homepage

Upfluence is the platform we build, aimed at teams that want brand mentions to turn into creator partnerships. The platform identifies the creator behind a mention and checks whether their audience is real. Outreach, payment and sales tracking then run from the same account.

Pricing is modular and custom quoted. You pay a fixed platform fee for the modules you use. Upfluence takes no percentage of creator sales.

Upfluence is not a media monitoring tool. If PR crisis tracking is part of your job, keep a dedicated media intelligence platform for that work.

How the Best Brandwatch Alternatives Compare on Price

Each price below is the lowest figure the vendor publishes, so the plan you need may cost more.

ToolEntry priceHow it is billed
TalkwalkerCustom quoteBy plan tier
MeltwaterCustom quoteBy package, 12-month minimum
SprinklrCustom quoteBy product
Sprout Social$199 per seat per monthPer seat, listening sold as an add-on
Hootsuite$99 per user per monthPer user, basic listening included
Agorapulse$79 per user per monthPer user, listening sold as an add-on
Brand24$199 per monthKeyword and mention volume
Mentionlytics$49 per month (limited-time offer)Keyword and mention volume
Awario$29 per monthTopic and mention volume
UpfluenceCustom quoteFixed platform fee by module

The billing method decides how fast your cost grows. Per-seat pricing grows with headcount, so adding a junior analyst to Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or Agorapulse costs the same as adding a head of brand.

Volume pricing grows with how much people talk about you. Brand24, Mentionlytics, and Awario meter keywords and mentions, so a product launch or a bad news cycle can push you past your cap in the month you most need the data.

Quote-based tools such as Talkwalker, Meltwater, Sprinklr, and Upfluence price every deal individually. Build the demo around the modules and volume you need, then ask what renewal costs at double your current size.

Upfluence quotes by module, so the cost follows the parts of the program you run. See plans and pricing for how the modules break down.

Brandwatch Alternatives by Use Case

Some buying situations point clearly to one Brandwatch competitor over the others.

  • You need a year or more of history: Mentionlytics and Hootsuite Enterprise publish the longest archives among the tools that state one.
  • Your mentions come mostly from creators: Upfluence can vet those creators and bring them into paid campaigns.

If you are comparing creator platforms instead of listening tools, our Modash alternatives breakdown covers that market.

Where Upfluence Comes In for Social Listening and Influencer Marketing

Upfluence is built for the step after a creator mentions your brand. You can see who the creator is, whether their audience is real, and what it would cost to work with them.

For context, the median price among paid creator applications on Upfluence was $300 in Q1 2026. That figure covers 47,515 applications to 730 brands in our creator intelligence report.

The platform covers that work in one account.

  • Find the creator behind the mention: Creator discovery and vetting checks audience quality across more than 14 million creator profiles.
  • Surface the customers who are creators: Live Capture finds which of your customers are creators, so you can invite them into a campaign.
  • Launch and run the campaign: Upfluence AI (Jaice) reads your campaign analytics and recommends creators, campaign type, and budget.
  • Measure it on revenue: Creator analytics and revenue attribution tie each creator to clicks, conversions, average order value, and sales.

The agent draws on more than a decade of creator commerce data. Your team keeps control of strategy and approvals.

If you pay those creators through affiliate links, their posts keep their engagement.

Our study of 1.1 million affiliate-linked posts on Instagram and TikTok found they earn about the same median engagement as organic posts. The one exception was TikTok creators with more than 1 million followers.

Teams that want raw data in their own stack can pull it through an API and MCP connection. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, the standard that lets AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude query a platform directly.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Here are short answers to the questions buyers ask when replacing Brandwatch.

Can You Migrate Your Historical Data From Brandwatch?

You can take part of it with you. Export your reports and mention data before the contract ends. A new tool usually starts collecting from the day you set up your query, so ask each vendor about historical backfill.

Do Brandwatch Alternatives Track TikTok, Reddit, and Forums?

All ten tools monitor the major social networks, though depth varies. Reddit and niche forums vary the most because of Reddit’s commercial data terms. Ask each vendor for a written source list before you sign.

How Accurate Is Sentiment Analysis in Social Listening Tools?

Sentiment scoring handles plain statements well and finds sarcasm harder. A 2025 study in Procedia Computer Science scored sarcasm detection between 86% and 96%, but only on clean news headlines. Social posts are noisier, so read sentiment as a trend line.

Does Brandwatch Offer a Free Trial?

Brandwatch routes every visitor to a demo and does not publish a self-serve trial. Sprout Social and Agorapulse publish 30-day trials. Brand24, Mentionlytics, and Hootsuite publish 14-day trials.

Can a Social Listening Tool Replace an Influencer Marketing Platform?

No, it cannot. A listening tool shows who mentioned your brand. An influencer marketing platform is what you use to sign that person and attribute the sales their content drives.

Turn Brand Mentions Into Tracked Revenue With Upfluence

Before you sign with any vendor, pull last month’s mentions and count how many came from creators. If that number is high, those creators are your shortlist for paid partnerships. A competitor can sign them first.

Upfluence turns that shortlist into a running creator program on one platform. You find creators across more than 14 million profiles, then handle outreach, product shipping and affiliate links in the same place, and pay each creator in their own currency.

Upfluence AI (Jaice) reads your campaign data and recommends where to spend next. We charge a fixed platform fee and take no cut of creator sales.
