Hello Adrian, can you introduce yourself and your blog luxatic.com?
First, my name is Adrian Prisca and I’m a young online entrepreneur from Transylvania. To this day I’m still surprised that just a few people know that Transylvania is actually a central part from Romania, but I totally like this place and I’m proud to call it home.
I’ve started my first online projects almost 8 years ago and after many ups and downs I’ve discovered that it’s better to focus only on the things you like if you truly want to succeed. I’ve had a really popular entertainment site a couple of years ago and I’ve also owned several decent blogs on car news, architecture and fashion, but I’m mostly proud of Luxatic and what it became over time.
I’ve launched Luxatic back in 2010, as a simple blog where I could write about the things I loved: from supercars and yachts, to bespoke hotels and all about fine living, but the readership of the blog started to pick up really fast and over the years Luxatic became one of the best websites in its niche, reaching over 100,000 visitors/month as we speak.
What are your editorial habits ? (I write my own content, someone writes for me, someone proofreads me, I take my own pictures for the blog, I post a lot of videos ect…)
I’m still writing some of the content on Luxatic myself, but now the site has a small team of editors dedicated to bring everyone the latest news from the world of luxury. Nowadays I just manage the entire project, I decide what would work on Luxatic or not, I proofread most of the articles and also take care of the site’s promotion and relationships.
How do you use social networks ? Which one do you prefer ?
Luxatic has a good presence on basically all social networks right now. We have more than 25,000 fans combined on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Google+ and Flipboard and, even though we get the most social traffic from Facebook, I like to use Flipboard the most, because it’s a super cool way of keeping up with the content from your favorite websites, exactly like a magazine.
What are the meaningful moments of the development of the blog ?
In the first couple of months after launching Luxatic I was just testing the water to see if the site starts to get organic traffic or not, and soon after I had the first positive results I’ve decided to invest in a custom theme for the blog. Two years later Luxatic had decent earnings already, and I’ve decided to hire the first editor.
Since then, the audience went up a lot and now we’re a team of four, with a new look (that’s still a work in progress) and branding that has been launched early this year. The best moments for Luxatic are obviously when our content is picked up by some of the most influential websites online, like Forbes, Bloomberg or Sports Illustrated, just to name a few.
Who’s your target ?
Our target audience is made of people with high aspirations, either dreamers who would like to own certain things we usually post on Luxatic one day, or people who can actually afford this kind of lifestyle and want to find out more info about the things they like. Most of our traffic comes from the United States, with the UK, Canada, Germany and France completing the top five.
Which are the most popular categories of your blog ?
The most popular categories on our blog are: Cars & Bikes, focusing on the latest luxury cars and bespoke bikes, and the Travel section as well, where we feature every day either a luxury hotel or a dreamy resort from all over the world.
Where do you find inspiration ?
We have a massive list of sources for all the content we usually feature on Luxatic, and we also get a lot of press releases with the latest luxury products from all kinds of brands, so inspiration is not really a problem for us. The hardest part is to filter through it all and decide what’s the best content for us and our readers as well.
A little message for Upfluence ?
I liked the entire experience I’ve had with Upfluence and I was really impressed by your platform. It’s something else, and I can’t wait to see what you guys will do next. Keep up the great work!
