Many brands utilize Instagram as their major source of online marketing, both in an organic and paid manner.
And that’s not surprising as ever since reaching 1 billion active users in 2018, users have increased more and more, even beating TikTok’s growth in 2024 for the first time in 4 years.
However, with all of these mentions and posts made every day, we asked the question: which company’s social media strategy is attracting the most mentions?
Luckily, we not only took a look at over 41 million posts, but we also condensed the list into a series of Top 5 Brands.
The Lists
We ordered these top 5 brands lists from a variety of metrics recorded between 2022 and 2023:
- Most Mentions: These five businesses are dominating social media like nobody other, as seen by the volume of postings that mention them.
- Most engaging: These businesses have been accumulating the most amount of interactions on their posts and the ones that mention them, while not having the biggest reach.
- Biggest Newcomer: A lot of companies entered the discussion in 2023. They had a starting point of 0. We are here to champion these amazing new ventures.
These metrics were recorded by looking at the total number of posts mentioning these companies strictly from online creator accounts and the interactions generated by them.
Posts and engagements spawned from their brand accounts were not considered for these lists.
Most Mentioned Brands

Number 1: ZARA (600k)

Fashion Retail giant ZARA keeps the number one spot for 2023. This is the second year in a row they obtained the top spot.
Therefore, with such diverse looks and accessible prices, it is no wonder people around the world share their clothes and outfits daily.
They have an impressive 6% of the entire Instagram share of voice. However, this number was lowered compared to last year, as they lost around 1% of the share since 2022.

SHEIN, for the second year in a row, took the silver metal. But what makes the Chinese online retail giant so popular?
With their strictly online business model and with such a variety of products, they attracted an extremely diverse customer base.

Amazon picks up the bronze medal and grows 3 ranks compared to 2022, an achievement very difficult to achieve. Nevertheless, they nearly doubled their share.
Amazon has a secret advantage compared to the competition. as they reap the benefits of other businesses growing. So many companies list their products on the platform and therefore take some of the traffic as well.

The top 5 Brands mentioned contain mostly giants in the world of retail. Specifically in the world of fashion, an industry where sharing self-expression is extremely beneficial and widespread.
Specifically, it is no secret to understand why, with such huge platforms, they can attract a very wide variety of customers and fans.

Fashion Nova obtains 4th place in the most mentioned category. At one point it was the most googled company in the world despite being mostly a U.S. Household Name

The Swedish Fashion Retail Company may have taken a little blow and lost one spot compared to last year.
However, they made it up by supporting their sister brands and skyrocketing their online presence with ease.

They roughly have 7% of the share of interaction on all of Instagram, and are the only brand that has generated over 1 billion interactions within our study.
Thanks to the company’s high post rate, they can offer reasonably priced, readily shared clothes for any body shape. And can get a lot done thanks to celebrity endorsement’s exclusivity and appeal.

Number 2: Adidas (894M)

Adidas’ strategy of high spending on sponsorship is paying off!
They spend over three-quarters of their budget on football alone!
Several athletes, including Lionel Messi, who has multiple posts in the top 10 most liked on Instagram, are currently making content for Adidas.

Number 3: Louis Vuitton (825M)

Luxury fashion brands like Louis Vuitton have been killing it on the engagement side of Instagram!
Their quality-first approach and higher budgets allow them to create extremely compelling content that resonates with people.

H&M’s contemporary collection of styles (COS) has seen considerable support from the Swedish giant, allowing them to obtain over 27 spots in the rankings, using a bold and minimalistic art direction on their 3.4 million follower page.
While Still outside of the top 50, with this pace they will reach the coveted rankings in no time.

Without the assistance of a significant business partner, obtaining such a tremendous rise in mentions in a short amount of time can be difficult. However, growth alone won’t cut it if you don’t have a compelling idea or accompanying branding.

Italian luxury Fashion fully represents the country in our top 50 brands ranking.
likewise, the renowned Giorgio Armani explores social media tactics, raising their ranking by 27 and falling short of COS overall by just one rank.
Thanks to their extreme variety of brands, they can cast a wide net of mentions.
